Natural Beauty and makeup Tips

Regardless of your age, you have the opportunity to always look your best! Much of this has to do with using the right makeup and skin care tips so that you can maximize your potential, look younger than your years, and remain flawless even as a woman over 50.To get you started, here are some of the best tips to keep you fresh and beautiful

• Start out by revising your makeup routine. There is no reason to use the same makeup style or application that you did when you were 20, especially as the decades have passed. When you are over 50, it is so much better to use light mineral makeup powder foundation with full coverage, which will minimize wrinkles instead of highlighting them.

• Please remember that less is more! What you may start to discover as you age is that a little will go a long way and caking on makeup will often make you look older. When you have the opportunity, simply use a tinted moisturizer as opposed to a foundation for your coverage.

• Use a cream blush. This is something that is so helpful when you age because a cream blush will beautifully smooth onto your complexion so that it looks fresh and natural instead of painted on.

• Make sure that you moisturize. This is so important, regardless of whether you have dry or oily skin. You must use a moisturizer appropriate to your skin type, which will guarantee that your complexion remains in balance. Many women don’t realize that this is one of the best ways to stay young and prevent wrinkles, so make your moisturizer your best friend.

• Exfoliate 2 to 3 times per week. This is another helpful tip that will give you amazing results as you age. One of the reasons that your makeup starts to look dull and flat is because your skin cells turn over more slowly as you age. To have the youthful skin of a teenager, you must help the process and exfoliate 2 to 3 times per week to stimulate fresh cell renewal!

• Last of all, make sure that you work to bring out your best features. If you have beautiful eyes, wear a volumizing mascara. If you have luscious lips, choose a lip color that is flattering. When you play up your best features, you will look younger than your years, and people will pay attention!

The important thing to keep in mind is that your makeup needs to evolve with you as you age. Just because you are a woman over 50 doesn’t mean that you can’t look polished and beautiful, so when you start to tailor your makeup application to your age, it will be even more flattering! When you couple that with the skin care tips that I mentioned, it will make a serious difference in balancing out your skin tone, minimizing wrinkles, and helping you to look younger than your years. These simple tips will give you serious results in a few easy steps. Are you ready to turn back time?

How To Apply Eyeliner

Most people use an eyeliner pencil because they think is will be easier, but with a bit of practice, liquid eyeliner can be used successfully too, so that either way you end up with a nice straight line.

Eyeliner Application
Before you begin applying the eyeliner, there are a few things you should do; firstly, apply any other eye makeup you want to use before adding eye liner and mascara. It may also be helpful if you remove dangly bracelets and watches as they can often get in the way or just become irritating distractions. Make sure you have a good mirror and lighting so that you can properly see what you are doing when using the eyeliner.

Eyeliner Pencil
1. The eyeliner pencil should be able to draw a thin, unbroken line along your skin – test it on your hand or arm first. Either sharpen it until the line is thin enough, or if it is too thin, draw a line on a tissue, which will make the tip blunter.

2. You should hold the eyeliner pencil as you would hold a pencil or pen to write with, usually with your dominant hand. Use your other hand to stretch the eye you are going to line from the outer corner. You can rest your hand holding the pencil against the hand pulling your lid taut.

3. Don’t try to focus on your whole eye lid at one time – just look at the part you are drawing on. The line should be just above your eye lashes on the top lid and just below on the bottom, and should extend just to the outer corner of your eye.

4. Be wary if your eyeliner pencil tip is quite dry, as this may pull at delicate eye tissue. Draw the line with care if this is the case.

Liquid Eyeliner
1. Liquid eyeliner comes in a bottle rather like ink, and you must use a separate brush to apply. The best result will come from a point liner brush.

2. It is natural to close your eye as you draw the line, but if you keep it open, it will actually make it easier to follow the curve of your lid and thus have a straighter line.

3. You do not need to try and paint a continuous line with liquid eyeliner. It is actually easier to pain a few small dashes onto the lash line, eg. Inner corner, middle and out corner, then go back and connect them.
4. If you want a thicker line than this initial thin one, build it up gradually. Start at the middle of the lash line and draw towards the outer corner. You can extend the line slightly past the outer corner of your eyelid if you wish.

Common Eyeliner Mistakes:
If you do make a mistake while applying liner in either pencil or liquid form, then it is easily corrected – just keep some eye makeup remover close to hand, and gently dab at the area you wish to remove with a small amount on the end.

How to Get Nude Lips

There’s something very ethereal about nude lips, especially when paired with sexy, smokey eyes.

The first thing you need to think about when doing nude lips is the rest of your makeup. Usually, nude lips look best with a smoky eye or some heavy mascara, so don’t be afraid to pamper your peepers before starting.

One of the best tricks I’ve learned about doing a perfect nude lip is to exfoliate the lips  before starting. This will ensure a smooth canvas. After you’ve exfoliated, apply a lip primer so your lipstick will stay on longer.

Get a little bit of concealer or foundation on your index finger and dab it onto your lips so that they are the same color as your complexion. Make sure you don’t smear it, but that you dab it on instead. Next, pick a nude lip liner, one shade lighter than the lipstick you’re going to use. Lightly line your upper and lower lips.

This is where the tricky part comes in. Choosing the right nude lip color for you can be an experiment, so pick up a few good nude lip colors and try them out to see which one you like. I am currently obsessed with MAC’s ViVa Glam lipstick in GaGa, which, as you probably already know, isn’t nude, but pink. But what I love about this color is that you can build it up to your liking, and although it isn’t nude, it makes for an amazing shade over the concealer-colored lips.

Makeup Beauty Tips

Did you ever want to know about the makeup beauty tips that the makeup artists to use to achieve their fantastic results? How does skin end up looking so flawless when they go over it? How do those models’ lips seem so perfect and pouty? How do they make eyes always seem so bright and perfect? As it happens, there really are specific makeup tricks that go behind all of these effects. Let’s start with that perfect skin. The first thing you need to do starting out is to use skin lotion that is fortified with SPF.

You need to rub into your skin and leave it there for the skin to absorb it. After a few minutes, you can start with a little touch of foundation. You don’t apply it with a brush though – you put it on with your fingers (bet you didn’t know that). You could use a brush after this – but that would be to put on concealer and blend it into the foundation. You do this to hide any blemishes. Make sure when you use face powder, that you use neutral stuff, and not colored. When you’re done, you can spray on a touch of water to make your makeup look a little less powdery. If you want your face to look tighter and more together, you really don’t have to head for your plastic surgeon. What you need to do instead is, to trick the eye. Pick up a cake of matte powder that’s a little darker than your skin tone.

Starting under your cheekbone, try to blend the powder in. Use a little blush right there high up and dust own a little highlighter all over your nose, your brow bone and your cheekbones. It’s going to help make your jaw line look a lot stronger, and it’s going to make your neck look tighter. Let’s get onto those bright eyes. Basically, what you want to do is to use a little reflective concealer by the top of the nose, close to your inner eye. It’ll help cover up any darkness there might be. And then, you can use silver liner. There are metallic glinting flakes in it that will reflect light and light up your eyes. If silver liner seems a little too bold for your look, you can instead use a transparent, but shiny, eyeshadow near the inner corner of your eye and around your brow bone. For the best effect, curl your eyelashes and touch them up with black mascara. The effect on your eyes will be one of largeness, openness and brightness.
